The Gräbner FUND
MusicSources is excited to announce our commission of a new harpsichord to be built by master builder John Phillips, based on the 1722 Johann Heinrich Gräbner preserved in the Villa Bertramka in Prague. It is our intent to honor MusicSources Founder Laurette Goldberg with this magnificent german style instrument, perfect for the music of J.S Bach. It is to be dedicated to her memory and her devotion to performers, students and lovers of Bach. Upon its completion in approximately two years from now, we will celebrate with an inaugural series of concerts inviting great harpsichordists from around the world.
Mr. and Mrs. Hibbard of Palo Alto have generously loaned us their stunning instrument of this prototype built by John Phillips, labeled as Opus 101. The Gräbner FUND has now been established to help bring this instrument to our distinguished collection of early keyboards.
