JazzSchool-logoThe Jazzschool in Berkeley and The San Francisco Early Music Society have established an exciting new affiliation that we anticipate will delight both our audience and our local musicians. Beginning October 6th early music lovers and jazz music lovers will have the opportunity to join together to celebrate the improvisational kinship of the two genres.The Jazzschool will host monthly Sunday afternoon concerts of early music, each concert featuring members of our community performing on period instruments and expounding the common improvisational thread (what philosopher David Rothenberg called “sudden music”) that links early music and jazz.
